The first organizational meeting of the Cobb County Daylily Society was held on August 29, 2004. There were 26 people in attandance at that first meeting. An overview of the structure of the American Hemerocallis Society was given.

The meeting time and place were decided. We agreed that Sunday afternoon at 2pm would be the most convenient for most of the group. In order to help keep cost low the club agreed that meeting at the First Methodist Church in Marietta.Bill Waldrop agreed to serve as our Charter President and Diana Waldrop will serve as both Secretary and Treasurer. Other officers were elected at the next meeting.
